How to achieve a good Work/Life balance

I hear from lots of my clients that their aim for the new year is to have a better balance between their work and personal life; so how can we do this?
• Set boundaries - decide how much work you're going to do, what time you're going to leave the office, whether you're going to answer work emails over the weekend or not - then stick to it!
• Take plenty of breaks - both throughout the day, and have something nice planned periodically to look forward to (this includes making sure you are using your paid annual leave!!)
• Prioritise your tasks - decide on your most important task each day, and do that first
• Practice self-care - make sure you are taking care of yourself physically - eat good food, drink lots of water and get enough sleep
• Stay organised - I find that my sense of balance slips when I am not on top of things - embrace lists, pretty planners and meal prep
• Remember it's okay to say no - you cannot do everything for everyone all of the time; practice saying no - it is like a muscle that will become stronger over time
Having a good sense of balance between our work and our personal life is so important in preventing feelings of burnout.
